CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Season tickets for 2013-14 Virginia women's basketball home games are on sale beginning Monday, Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. Season tickets are available in reserved and general admission seating areas for UVa's 14 home women's basketball games.
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced in May each school's home and away opponents for the 2013-14 season. Virginia will host Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech at John Paul Jones Arena.
The Cavaliers will play Michigan at John Paul Jones Arena on Dec. 5 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
The ACC will release Virginia's complete non-conference schedule and the dates and times of conference games in late August or early September.
"We're really looking forward to 2013-14 season, especially our home schedule " Virginia head coach Joanne Boylesaid. "Five of the eight ACC teams we play at home this season were NCAA Tournament participants a year ago and three of those teams finished in the Top 20. We'll certainly need our great fans to continue to create a loud and supportive home court advantage."
The Cavaliers return their top three scorers from last season's squad: Ataira Franklin, Kelsey Wolfe, and Sarah Imovbioh. UVa also welcomes back 2012 ACC All-Defensive Team selection Lexie Gerson. Gerson, who sat out last season due to injury, averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists during the 2011-12 season.
