Final Stats

The University of Virginia held one of the nation's top scoring offenses in check for the second consecutive game as they held #1 Wake Forest to their lowest goal total of the season in a 1-0 loss to the Demon Deacons. Virginia's Katherine Blair made 15 saves in the game as the Cavalier defense limited Wake Forest (16-0) to just the single goal, well below the Deacs' 3.35 goals-per-game average. Wake Forest scored as Michelle Kasold, a teammate of Blair's on the US Junior National team, stuck in a loose ball on a short corner minutes before the end of the first half. The Demon Deacons led 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, Blair was outstanding, making 11 saves, keeping the Cavaliers right in the game and denying the Wake Forest any chances to build their lead.

The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26 in a home game against the Richmond Spiders. Please note that the game time is 5:00 pm.
