The Maryland Terrapins scored two goals in the first half to take an early lead and hold on to win the ACC Championship today in College Park. Virginia's Becky Worthington (Fairview Village, Pa./Methacton) had 9 saves, with five in the first and four in the second half, to help steady the Cavalier defense. Julia Richardson (Atlanta, Ga./Stone Ridge), also a member of the ACC All-Tournament teama, made two defensive saves in the game. The third member from the Cavaliers who was named to the All-Tournament team was Lorraine Vizzuso (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex).

With the loss, the Cavaliers fall to 14-7 overall. Virginia awaits a bid to the NCAA tournament, which will be announced on Tuesday night.
