CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. -- Cavalier Jessica Coleman (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional) was named to the third-team All-American squad today as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association. It is the first time that she has been so honored.

Coleman led the Cavaliers in scoring in 1999 with 22 goals and 10 assists. She became just the third player in school history to record double-digit scoring in both goals and assists in a single season. Her 54 points ranks second all-time as a second-year and it is the fourth-highest total for a season in school history.

Coleman's 22 goals ranks second all-time as a sophomore and her 10 assists places her fifth as a second-year. Her 22 goals also ranks as sixth-best all-time on the Cavalier charts for a single season and ranks in the top-10 in the nation for scoring. Coleman was also named to the All-ACC team this season and to the first team South Regional team.
