Baton Rouge, LA - After grabbing the first round lead at the LSU Classic, the 15th-ranked Virginia women's golf team dropped back to third place following the second round of play. The Cavaliers shot 15-over 303 Saturday and stand at 597 with 18 holes to play. Auburn's 289 allowed the fifth-ranked Lady Tigers to grab the lead at 586. LSU moved up to second at 588.

In the race for medalist honors, Virginia's Leah Wigger is in third place at 1-over 145 and Jennie Arseneault is one shot back in fourth position. LSU's Melissa shot 6-under 66 to finish the first 36 holes at 5-under 139. She is four shots ahead of Vanderbilt's Jacqui Concolino (143).

Virginia's Carly Truitt, who is playing as a non-scoring individuals, is fourth overall at 148 after posting a 2-over 148 for the second consecutive round. Lauren Mielbrecht is tied with teammate Rachel Smith for 41st at 154. Sally Shonk is in 61st place at 159.
