Redding Leads UVA with 15th-Place Finish at Rucker

Hilton Head, S.C. - Despite posting its best single-round score of the event, the Virginia women's golf team could not improve on its 18th-place standing during the final round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. The Cavaliers shot 9-over 293 on Sunday's for a three-day total of 909. Alabama led wire-to-wire to take home the team title at 866.

Junior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) was UVA's top finisher. She shot 3-over 74 for the second consecutive day to place 15th at 7-over 220.

Freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) shot 1-over 72 on Sunday to move up to 28th place with a final score of 224. Junior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) posted a final-round effort of 76 and dropped back to 62nd at 230.

Junior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) had UVA's best final-round score, shooting even par 71 to finish 83rd at 235. Sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was 92nd at 255 and sophomore Kate Harper (Isle of Palms, S.C.), competing as an individual, was in 93rd at 266.
