Wigger One Shot Behind Leader at Murphey Classic

Athens, GA - Virginia senior golfer Leah Wigger enters Sunday's final round at Georgia's Liz Murphey Classic one shot behind the leader after carding a 1-over 72 for the second consecutive day. Wigger, a two-time All-American at UVa, is one shot behind LSU's Melissa Eaton, who leads the field at 1-over 143. Four players are tied for third place, one shot behind Wigger.

Wigger's play sparked the Cavaliers' second round effort that moved them up five spots on the leaderboard to a tie with Wake Forest for fourth overall. Virginia shot 8-over 296 for Saturday's second best score to enter the final round at 599. Auburn's 36-hole total of 592 leads second-place Arkansas by five shots.

Virginia's Jennie Arseneault shot 3-over 74 to move up to 20th overall at 149. Rachel Smith also posted a 74 Saturday and improved to 33rd on the leaderboard at 152. Whitney Neuhauser is two shots back in 43rd place following her 76 in the second round. Carly Truitt shot 80 and is 74th at 161.
