Redding Has Career Best Performance at ANNIKA

Reunion, Fla. - The Virginia women’s golf team finished 11th at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Reunion, Fla., in the team’s second tournament of the season. The Cavaliers shot 9-over 297 on Tuesday for a three-day total of 5-over 869

USC won the tournament at 24-under 842, two strokes ahead of Arkansas.

UVA was led by the 11th-place finish of sophomore Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.). She shot 2-under 70 during the final round for a 54-hole total of 6-under 210. That was the best tournament score of her career, topping the even par 216 she had at last year’s ACC Championships. Redding’s second-round effort of 4-under 68 was her best 18-hole score as a collegiate.

Senior Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) finished 34th overall at 1-over 217. She was one of three UVA players to shoot 4-over 276 during the final round.

Sophomores Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) also posted that score and tied for 47th at 222. UVA junior Sarah Kolodzik (Bellbrook, Ohio). Was 58th at 229. She finished with a round of 3-over 75.

The Cavaliers return to action Oct. 14-16 when they compete at the Tar Heel Invitational.
