The Virginia women's golf team finished third of 12 teams after the final round of the Landfall Tradition on Sunday.
Purdue fired a two-under 286 in the final round to capture the team title with an 877 (+13). Wake Forest was second with an 894 (+30). The Cavaliers shot a 303 in the final round to finish with a 906 (+42).
Individually, Purdue's Christel Boeljon fired a five-under 67 in the final round to take medalist honors with a four-under 212. Tulsa's Leisl Hasbrouck finished second with a two-under 216, while Virginia junior Leah Wigger (Louisville, Ky.) took third with a 218 (+2).
Sophomore Lauren Mielbrecht (Gulf Stream, Fla.) finished seventh with a 223 (+7). Wigger and Mielbrecht have recorded Top 10 finishes in every tournament this fall. Junior Rachel Smith (Powell, Tenn.) tied for 24th with a 233 (+17), while junior Lindsay Robinson (Huntington, W.V.) tied for 29nd with a 235 (+19). Freshman Carly Truitt (Marysville, Ohio) rounded out the UVa scoring with a 238 (+22).
Virginia will close out its fall schedule next weekend at the Derby Invitational in Auburn, Ala., on Nov. 4-6.
