UVA Places 11th at Landfall Tradition to Wrap Fall

Wilmington, N.C. - The Virginia women’s golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule Sunday with an 11th-place finish at the 18-team Landfall Tradition. UVA shot 10-over 298 during the final round for a three-day total of 31-over 895. Wake Forest and South Carolina tied for first place at 5-under 859.

Freshman Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) led the Cavaliers with an 18th-place finish, her best as a collegiate. Ford shot 2-over 218, including a final round of 5-over 77. Her 54-hole total was also a career best.

Sophomore Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) shot 73 for the second consecutive day and finished 31st at 5-over 223. Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) was 37th overall at 225. She had UVA’s best third-round score, shooting even par 72.

Sophomore Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) placed 67th at 231 while senior Lauren Diaz-Yi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was 71st at 233. Rachel Corry (Ridgefield, Conn.), competing as an individual, placed 91st at 241.

Wake Forest’s Jennifer Kupcho took medalist honors at 9-under 207.
