Pinehurst, N.C. - The 2004 Pinehurst Women's Golf Challenge, co-hosted by the University of Virginia and the College of Charleston, has been cancelled due to inclement weather late last week that dumped several inches of snow on the course.

Play was originally scheduled to begin Friday at Pinehurst #8. Officials postponed the first round, then reassessed the course this morning and found the accumulation too great to play at all this weekend.

The Cavaliers head to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the SunTrust Lady Gator Invite on March 7-9.
