Cavaliers Open Play at Kinderlou Forest Challenge

Valdosta, GA  - The No. 15 Virginia women's golf team was in eighth place when play was halted due to darkness during the second round of the Kinderlou Forest Challenge. The Cavaliers stood at 19-over on the 18-team leaderboard with several holes left to play when play was stopped. Tulane was leading the event at 3-over while Tennessee was in second place at 8-over. The tournament is UVa's first event of the spring season.

Virginia shot 10-over during Monday's opening round, led by senior Whitney Neuhauser's even-par performance. Brittany Altomare completed her opening round at 2-over 75, Calle Nielson shot 76, Eleana Collins posted a 78 and Nicole Agnello shot 79.

Agnello was leading the Cavaliers in the second around at even par after 12 holes. Altomare stood at 1-over through 15 holes while Nielson and Collins were at 4-over and Neuhauser was at 5-over. Altomare is in 17th place on the leaderboard while Neuhauser is tied for 32nd.

The second round will be completed Tuesday morning before the final round gets underway. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
