Cavalier Kristen Simpson hails from Norfolk and is a third-year on the Cavalier team. Last summer she placed second at the Virginia State Amateur. She was in UVa's lineup for the Cavaliers' spring opener at Arizona. Let's Play Through with Kristen Simpson.

Question: What is your favorite overall golf course?
Simpson:Pinehurst No. 2 because of its history and the challenge it presents. It's a course that the more you play it, the more you like it and appreciate it. My other favorite course is Cedar Point Country Club because it's the one I grew up playing and where I shot under par for the first time.

Question: What is your favorite club in your bag?
Simpson:My seven iron

Question: Who has influenced your golf game the most?
Simpson:My dad

Question: What is your earliest memory of playing golf?
Simpson:Playing on the weekends with my dad

Question: If you could play with any professional, who would it be?
Simpson:Tiger Woods because you could learn so much from him in just one round. It would be awesome to even get a chance to meet the best player in the world.

Question: What is your favorite shot to hit?
Simpson:Driver with a nice draw

Question: My favorite golf term is?
Simpson:Snowman because when I was younger, I though it was the funniest thing when my dad got one. It also meant that I had a chance to beat him when he had one.

Question: The strangest thing I ever saw on a golf course was ...
Simpson:I saw a man hit a squirrel that was running across the fairway, when he sculled his iron shot. I also saw a man hit a bird in mid air.

Question: What is the current song/artist you listen to prior to playing?
Simpson:I listen to whatever is playing in the van on the way to the golf course. It's all up to DJ Leah, who normally controls the play list in the van. Lately we have been listening to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol.

Question: What do you love most about UVa and why?
Simpson:I love the Grounds and the history behind it because of all the unique traditions it encompasses. My favorite part of Grounds is the Lawn.

Question: Who has your favorite nickname on the team?
Simpson:Carl for Carly

Question: What do you want to buy with your first paycheck after you graduate?
Simpson:It will probable be something small and not exciting. But if my first paycheck happens to be really big, then I would buy a new car.

Question: Most people would be surprised that I...
Simpson:I am shy is public places or around people that I don't know. (which is the exact opposite of how I am around the team and my friends)

Question: If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Simpson:Tiger Woods, to see what it feels like to bomb it 300 + yards and be the number-one player in the world

Question: What class would you like to teach?
Simpson:A class that just shows movies because I don't like talking in front of large groups of people

Question: What is/are your favorite sports team(s)?
Simpson:The Virginia Cavaliers

Question: If you could appear in any TV show it would be ...
Simpson:Grey's Anatomy

Question: If you could create your own major what would it be?
Simpson:A major that encompasses eating, sleeping, hanging out with friends, and golf

Simpson:10

Question: What is your greatest fear?
Simpson:Being blown off Mt. Lemmon in a 12-passenger van, like the one we saw in a valley in Arizona. (It was at the windy point vista in Arizona, while site seeing)

Question: If you were to be stranded on an island and you could only bring one thing, what would it be and why?
Simpson:I would bring a friend to keep me company until I needed some food or a knife for protection and hunting.

Question: If you could have any superpower it would be...
Simpson:Superhuman strength and invincibility

Question: If you could have lunch with any person in the world, who would it be and why?
Simpson:The President because it would be cool to meet him and visit the White House.

Simpson:Ketchup

Simpson:Hanging out with Friends

Simpson:The Good Old Song

Simpson:Everything

Question: I would buy a ticket to go see...
Simpson:Carly in concert. I would be the only one crazy enough to buy a ticket, but I would die laughing the entire time.

Question: The most exotic place I ever visited...
Simpson:A zoo in Nassau, Bahamas, where animals were allowed to walk around the property, when they should have been kept in cages
