UVa Golfers Move into Tie for Lead at LSU Classic

Baton Rouge, LA - The seventh-ranked Virginia women's golf team moved into a four-way tie for first place following the second round of play at the 21-team LSU Classic at The University Club in Baton Rouge. Virginia shot 12-over 300 during Saturday's play for a 36-hole total of 25-over 601. Top-ranked Alabama, 17th-ranked Wake Forest and 26th-ranked Arkansas share the lead with the Cavaliers.

Virginia sophomore Nicole Agnello is tied with three other players for second place at 2-over 146. Agnello shot 1-over 73 for the second consecutive day. That group trails Alabama's Stephanie Meadow by two shots.

Agnello is joined in the top-10 by teammate Brittany Altomare. She is tied for sixth at 3-over 147, including a 2-over 74 during the second round.

Calle Nielson is in 22nd place at 151. She shot 77 Saturday. Portland Rosen moved up to 65th overall at 160 and Joy Kim improved to 77th at 162. Rosen shot 79 during the second round and Kim posted a 76.

The final round of the tournament gets underway at 8:30 a.m. Sunday with a shotgun start.
