First Round Rained Out for UVa Women's Golfers

Athens, GA - The opening round of play at Georgia’s Liz Murphey Collegiate Golf Classic was rained out Friday. The Cavalier women’s team and the other 17 schools in the field will attempt to start the tournament at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start. The forecast in the Athens, Ga., area calls for more rain showers Saturday.

It marks the first time in the 37-year history a complete round of the tournament was cancelled due to inclement weather.
