Cavaliers in 4th Place after 36 Holes at Bryan National

Greensboro, NC The third-ranked Virginia women’ golf team will enter Sunday’s final round at the Bryan National Collegiate in fourth place. The tournament is being held at Bryan National’s Champions Course in Greensboro. The Cavaliers shot 12-over 300 Saturday for a two-day total of 28-over 604. LSU, ranked No. 9, leads the field at 16-over 592. North Carolina, ranked No. 13 is second at 601 while No. 11 Wake Forest is two shots ahead of the Cavaliers.

Virginia’s Jennie Arseneault finished the second round in seventh place at 5-over 149, including a 76 Saturday. Whitney Neuhauser joins her in the top-10, finishing the day’s play in ninth place at 150. She shot 75 for the second straight day. Kristen Simpson posted the Cavaliers low round with a 74 to jump up to 22nd overall at 153. Calle Nielson and Lene Krog are tied for 28th at 154. Joy Kim, playing as a non-scorer, is 80th at 163.

Wake Forest’s Nannette Hill used a 4-under 68 to take the 36-hole lead at 1-under 143. North Carolina’s Catherine O’Donnell and LSU’s Tessa Teachman are tied for second at 145.
