GAINESVILLE, Fla. - First round action at the 2005 NCAA Women's Golf East Regional has been postponed due to inclimate weather, tournament officials announced on Thursday morning.

Play will begin on Friday, May 6 with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The second round will follow immediately after the conclusion of first round play.

The field of 21 teams, including the No. 8 seed Virginia Cavaliers, and three individuals will play at the par 70 and 6,023-yard University of Florida Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. Live scoring will be available on www.GolfStat.com.

The top eight teams and two individuals from each of the three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship on May 17-20 on the Meadows Course at the Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.
