UVa Drops to 10th in Tight Field at UNC

Chapel Hill, NC The Virginia women’s golf team dropped to 10th after 36 holes of play at North Carolina’s Lady Tar Heel Invitational Saturday. The
Cavaliers shot 303 during Saturday’s second round and have a two-day total of 601. Tennessee jumped to the top of the leader board at 586. Duke is
second at 589.

Freshman Calle Nielson, playing in her first tournament, enters Sunday’s final round in fourth place at 1-under 143. She shot 2-under 70 during the
second round after opening with a 73. Lene Krog is in 20th place at 149, Kristen Simpson is 40th at 152, Whitney Neuhauser is 80th at 160 and Carly
Truitt is 86th at 162. Krog and Simpson both shot 76 during the second round while Neuhauser posted an 83 and Truitt shot 80.

Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst shot 68 to take a three shot lead into the final round at 139.
