Virginia in 12th Place at Tar Heel Invitational

Chapel Hill, NC - The second-ranked Virginia women's golf team is in 12th place following the second round of the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. at Finley Golf Course. After shooting 9-over 297 Friday the Cavaliers posted a second round score of 4-over 292 and stand at 13-over 589 after 36 holes.

Brittany Altomare led Virginia Saturday with a 1-under 71 to move up to a tie for 17th place with teammate Nicole Agnello at 1-over 145. Agnello shot 73 during the second round. Portland Rosen and Elizabeth Brightwell are tied for 54th at 7-over 151. Brightwell shot 74 Saturday while Rosen carded a 77. Lauren Greenlief is in 66th place at 152. She also shot 74 during the second round. Melissa Edmondson, playing as an individual, is in 92nd place at 161.

Alabama's Hannah Collier leads the field at 9-under 135. The Crimson Tide is tied for first place with LSU at 7-under 569 heading into the final round.
