Colleen Shearer is her 19th season with the Virginia lacrosse staff. Working primarily with the attack, Shearer has developed offenses that have been an integral part of the Cavaliers' success.

Helping guide the team to five ACC Championships, Shearer has been an integral part of leading the team to six NCAA final games, which includes winning the NCAA title in 2004.

Outside of Virginia, Shearer serves the lacrosse community as a clinician and camp director and has served on the US Lacrosse All-American committee.
She began her coaching career with an impressive stint as the head coach at Wagner University in Staten Island, NY. The inaugural coach of the Seahawks program, Shearer started the Division I program from scratch.

A former member of the US National Developmental Team, Shearer was a three-time All-American at Rowan and was named captain her senior year. She led the Profs to the 1995 NCAA Championships, their first appearance in the tournament. Shearer led the nation in assists in both 1994 and 1995 and finished her collegiate career ranked fourth all-time in assists. She also holds two of the top eight single-season point totals in NCAA history.

Shearer and her husband Matt are the proud parents of a daughter, Mattison Elizabeth. The family lives in Crozet, Va.
