Expectations Remain High for UVa Rowing

Brett Sickler completed her first season as assistant coach of the Virginia rowing program in 2013. Sickler assists the Cavalier recruiting efforts and works with the varsity crews, including the Varsity Four that finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.

Sickler served as the lead assistant for her alma mater, Michigan, from 2010-12 and helped guide the Wolverines to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships and their first Big Ten title in eight years in 2012. She oversaw the recruiting efforts for the Wolverines and led the novice program.

Sickler is a four-time member of the USRowing senior national team and won gold medals with the women's eight at the 2006 and 2007 World Rowing Championships. She also finished 12th in the women's double sculls at the 2006 world regatta and was a Team USA alternate for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

A 2005 graduate of Michigan, Sickler helped the varsity eight earn a second-place finish at the 2003 NCAA Championships and a bronze medal at the 2004 national regatta.
