Associate Head Coach

Steve Pritzker was elevated to associate head coach in December 2007 and completed his eighth season with the Cavaliers in 2011. At the conclusion of the Cavaliers' NCAA Championship season in 2010, Pritzker was honored as the National Assistant Coach of the Year by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, becoming the only person to win the award twice.

After volunteering with the women's rowing team during the 2004 season while a full-time graduate student at UVa's business school, Pritzker assumed full-time coaching responsibilities in the fall of 2004.

During Pritzker's tenure, the team has won the 2010 NCAA Championship, six South/Central Regional team championships, and seven ACC team championships. The Varsity Four crew has won four NCAA Championships, and went undefeated in 2005, 2007 and 2010. Pritzker also coached the Second Varsity Eight to ACC and South/Central Championships in 2010.

After the Varsity Four won its third NCAA Championship in 2007, Pritzker earned South/Central Assistant Coach of the Year and National Assistant Coach of the Year honors.

He has also chaired the South/Central Regional regatta for the four four years and been a board member of the CRCA for the past two years.

Pritzker has been the director of recruiting since 2005.

Pritzker received a diploma from UVa's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. He earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University.

Pritzker rowed competitively as an undergraduate, earning four varsity letters as a coxswain at Yale and winning numerous medals including at Eastern Sprints and at the Temple Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.
