Associate Head Coach

Two-time CRCA National Assistant Coach of the Year Steve Pritzker returned to the Cavalier coaching staff as an associate head coach in August 2016. In addition to his coaching duties, Pritzker serves as UVA's Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Financial Officer.

Pritzker spent nine years as a member of the Virginia rowing coaching staff before serving as the head rowing coach at Iowa. Pritzker was an assistant coach from 2004-07 and an associate head coach from 2007-12. While coaching at Virginia, the Cavaliers won NCAA team championships in 2010 and 2012, along with runner-up finishes in 2005 and 2007. He also coached the Varsity Four to four individual National Championships, as well as three national runner-up finishes. Pritzker was named National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2010. Virginia won eight ACC titles in his nine seasons.

In 2013, Pritzker returned to UVA as the associate athletics director for business operations and the chief financial officer for the athletics department. In the summer of 2015, he was promoted to senior associate athletics director.

Pritzker received a diploma from UVa's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. He earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University.

Pritzker rowed competitively as an undergraduate, earning four varsity letters as a coxswain at Yale and winning numerous medals including at Eastern Sprints and at the Temple Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.
