CHARLOTTESVILLE - The University of Virginia women's rowing team opens its 2003 spring schedule on Saturday (March 15) by hosting Columbia University at 10:00 a.m. and San Diego State University at 2:00 p.m. at the Rivanna Reservoir.

Virginia's men's club rowing team will also compete against Columbia. The competition with Columbia will include races in the novice eight, the second varsity eight, the varsity eight and the varsity four for the women and the men.

UVa's women's rowing team's competition against San Diego State will include races in the second varsity eight and the varsity eight.

San Diego State is scheduled to compete against Delaware at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. That competition will include races in the second varsity eight and the varsity eight.

Virginia finished fourth in the final team standings at the 2002 NCAA Women's Rowing Championships. UVa is one of just four schools to compete in each of the six NCAA Women's Rowing Championships.
