GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia's No. 13 varsity eight has been tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week after posting wins over nationally ranked opponents at the Windermere Real Estate Classic over the weekend, the Conference announced on Monday.

UVa's varsity eight crew of Caitlin Mixter (coxswain), Jennifer Cromwell, Melanie Kok, Libby McCann, Emelia Colman-Shepherd, Lauren Hutchins, Kelsie Chaudoin, Sara Lippa, and Anna Samaha went a perfect 3-0. On Saturday, the No. 13 Cavaliers upset No. 8 UCLA, capturing a two-second upset victory in 6:58.53. Against No. 19 Washington, UVa claimed its second win on the day, knocking off the Huskies in 7:08.1.

On Sunday, Virginia completed its clean sweep, finishing seven seconds ahead of No. 14 Washington State in 6:44.92.

Of the 10 schools competing, the entire Virginia team was recognized by the Classic as the only school to win every race it competed in, registering an 11-0 overall record.

Seven-time defending champion Virginia travels to Clemson, S.C., on Saturday, April 21 for the 2007 ACC Women's Rowing Championships.
