Cavaliers will face six top-20 teams

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The No. 3 Virginia rowing team travels to Clemson, S.C. this weekend (April 20-21) for the Clemson Invitational on Lake Hartwell. Live video will be available and linked through VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers will face No. 4 Ohio State, No. 18 Louisville, Central Florida, Minnesota and Oklahoma Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. before taking on No. 5 UCLA, No. 13 Michigan, No. 19 Cornell, No. 20 Duke, Oklahoma and Oregon State Saturday afternoon at 4:40.

On Sunday, Virginia will race crews from Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Indiana and Miami starting at 8:53 a.m.

The order of races for both morning sessions will be the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, Novice Eight, Second Varsity Four and Third Varsity Four. Saturday afternoon’s schedule will begin with the 3V4, followed by the N8, 2V4, V4, 2V8 and V8.

Last time out, the Cavaliers advanced five boats to four different grand finals at the San Diego Crew Classic (April 6-7) in San Diego, Calif. UVa’s Varsity Eight placed third, while the Second Varsity Eight crew was fourth. Virginia’s First and Second Varsity Four finished fourth and fifth in the V4 grand final, respectively. The Cavaliers’ Novice Eight was fourth.

Up next, Virginia hosts the UVa Invitational on Lake Monticello on Saturday, April 27.
