The races begin at 8 a.m., and will take place on the Charles River. Northeastern serves as the host for the event.

Virginia is coming off of a second-place finish at the ACC Championships, held Monday in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Second Varsity Eight, highlighted by ACC Rookie of the Year Martha Kuzzy, won its race in a time of 6:49.3, edging Clemson (6:57.1) and Miami (7:18.42).

Gonzaga is unranked heading into the weekend races and is coming off of varsity race losses to Washington State on March 28. Northeastern, meanwhile, won the inaugural Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships on April 18.

Harvard, ranked No. 16 by the CRCA, won three out of five races (Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Open Four) on April 18 against Dartmouth and Syracuse. Southern California, ranked No. 11, participated in the San Diego Crew Classic on April 5 in its last outing.
