Virginia Ranked No. 5 in Coaches Poll

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - For the fourth consecutive week, the Virginia women's varsity eight crew maintained its No. 5 national ranking in this week's poll, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.

For the first time this season, the entire poll remained the same as last week. Southern Cal, which also earned 21 of the 25 first-place votes, was No. 1 for the fourth week in a row. Yale, which earned the remaining four first-place votes, held on to No. 2. Notre Dame, Brown, Virginia, Michigan, Minnesota, California, Princeton, and UCLA rounded out the Top 10.

The No. 5 Cavaliers head to the South/Central Regionals in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on May 12-13. UVa's first event is the Open 4+ heat at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
