CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The No. 5 Virginia rowing team looks to win its fifth-consecutive ACC title as the Cavaliers compete at the ACC Championships Friday-Saturday (May 16-17) on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina.

Heats are scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. Friday with the Varsity Four, followed by the Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight. The top-six times will move on to the grand finals on Saturday, while the bottom two will compete in the petite finals. Finals on Saturday morning start with the timed final of the Third Varsity Eight at 8:02 a.m., followed by petite and grand finals of the V4, 2V8 and V8.

Video of Saturday’s action will be streamed at TheACC.com.

Virginia has won four conference titles in a row and has won 13 of the 14 ACC regattas. The Cavaliers have captured 50 of the previous 56 events at the conference level. Virginia is seeded first in all four events this year and will row in the first heat of each event on Friday evening.

UVa is ranked No. 5 in the latest USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) national poll, while ACC newcomer Notre Dame is tabbed No. 10, followed by fellow conference-newcomer Syracuse at No. 18. Clemson also received votes in the poll.
