Virginia Women's Soccer Hosts Connecticut in Exhibition Sunday

Today's Game: The Cavaliers make their 2007 home debut Sunday with an exhibition against Connecticut. It is Virginia's first home preseason game in the Steve Swanson era. Sunday's contest is the final preseason game for both teams before they open the regular season on Friday.

About the Cavaliers: Virginia has returned after spending a week of training in Traverse City, Mich., marking the fifth time in the past seven years the team has trained in Michigan. On the trip home, the Cavaliers played an exhibition game in Fort Wayne, Ind., falling to No. 3 Notre Dsme 3-1. Jess Rostedt scored for the Cavaliers.

About the Huskies: UConn is playing its third preseason game this season, all against ACC competition. The Huskies are 1-0-1 this preseason, defeating Boston College 2-0 and tying Maryland 1-1.

Up Next: Virginia will open the regular season on Friday, August 31 against Delaware at 5 p.m. It is the first game of a soccer doubleheader at Klockner Stadium, with the Cavalier men hosting Columbia at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are are $9 for reserved seats, $7 for adult general admission and $5 for youth, senior, and faculty/staff general admission.
