Oct. 15, 2013

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia junior midfielder Morgan Brian (St. Simons Island, Ga.) was named ACC Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday. Brian shares the honor with Virginia Tech senior goalkeeper Dayle Colpitts.

Brian helped the top-ranked Cavaliers to a pair of ranked wins last week. In the 3-2 double-overtime victory over No. 5 Notre Dame on Thursday, Brian scored the game-winning goal as she headed in a corner kick in the 101st minute. On Sunday, Brian and the Cavaliers downed No. 11 Wake Forest 2-0 in Winston-Salem.

It is Brian's second ACC Player of the Week honor of the season. She was also honored on August 27.

Virginia (14-0, 8-0 ACC) has a pair of road games this week as it visits NC State on Thursday and No. 4 North Carolina on Sunday.
