Virigina Falls to No. 9 Iowa

TAMPA, Fla. - Virginia fell behind early and never recovered as they lost the third game of the day, 8-0, to #9 Iowa at the Speedline Invitational.

Lori Reese went 2-for-2 for the Cavs, but it was not enough as the Hawkeyes scored in every inning but the first. Iowa scored four runs on four hits in the fifth off the eventual losing pitcher Kristi Fox (5.1 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 K). Fox allowed just three earned runs.
