CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team travels west this weekend for the Mary Nutter Classic, to be contested Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 20-22) in Cathedral City, Calif.

Virginia (1-7) will face BYU and Pacific on Thursday at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively, before playing Oregon State on Friday at 11 p.m. The Cavaliers conclude the tournament Saturday with games against Fresno State and No. 6 Oregon at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. All time are Eastern and live statistics will be available for all five games and linked through VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers dropped three games at a tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina last weekend (Feb. 15-16). Senior Marcy Bowdren (Fairfax Station, Va.) leads the squad with a .438 batting average while her and fellow senior Stephanie Harris (Knoxville, Va.) led UVa with two home runs each. Freshman Madison Labshere (El Cajon, Calif.) was named to the all-tournament team after going 4-for-4 in the last game against Towson.

BYU comes into the weekend with a 4-6 record after going 2-3 at the Easton Desert Classic last weekend in Las Vegas. McKenzie St. Clair leads the Cougars with a .500 batting average and 10 RBI.

Pacific is 2-4 on the season after going 1-4 at the Stanford Nike Invitational last weekend in Stanford, Calif. Taylor Petty leads the Tigers with a .611 batting average.

Oregon State (3-8) dropped five games at the Texas A&M Invite last weekend in College Station, Texas. Christie Langlois paces the Beaver lineup with a .435 batting average.

Fresno State (8-2) swept all five games at the Fresno State Kick-Off last weekend in Fresno, Calif. Vonnie Martin leads the Bulldogs with a .357 batting average.

Oregon (9-1) has won nine consecutive games, including all five at the Easton Desert Classic last weekend in Las Vegas. Courtney Ceo leads the Ducks with a .594 batting average.

The Cavaliers begin ACC play next weekend when they travel to NC State for a three-game series March 1-2.
