Game Notes
Weekend Recap: The Cavaliers snapped six-game winless streak and recorded their first win at North Carolina since 2011 in Friday’s (March 31) 10-4, series-opening victory. Seeking its first series win in Chapel Hill since 2005, Virginia saw leads of two and three dissipate in an 8-7 loss in the series finale on Sunday.

Homer Friendly: Against North Carolina, the Cavaliers belted five home runs in three games to increase their season total to 32. Sophomore Erika Osherow hit her first home run of the season in Saturday’s loss to North Carolina and became the ninth different Cavalier to leave the yard in 2017.

Familiar Face: Osherow appeared in the circle in all three weekend contests at North Carolina and is now tied for the ACC lead with 30 appearances. She tossed her sixth complete game of the season and second of the week in Friday night’s win.

Career Day: In Friday night’s win over North Carolina, sophomore Lacy Smith matched a career-high with three hits. Her two doubles, also a new career-best, allowed her to score twice in the 10-4 victory. She’s batting a team-best, .308 (4-for-13) over the last five games.

Career Home Run Race: Three current Cavaliers rank in the top 10 on Virginia’s career home run list. Seniors Katie Park and Danni Ingraham are tied for eighth all-time with 19 home runs while Madison Labshere is right behind them with 18. On the verge of cracking the top-10 is junior Allison Davis who currently has 17.

Road Trip: Virginia is on the tail end of a 10-game road trip, the second longest of the season. The Cavaliers opened 2017 by playing the first 16 games away from Charlottesville.

Up Next: The Cavaliers are one of three teams (Florida State and Virginia Tech) to have played 15 Atlantic Coast Conference games. Virginia will have the weekend off from ACC play and return to action next Tuesday (April 11) with a single game at Liberty.
