LYNCHBURG, Va.--Virginia softball senior pitcher Melanie Mitchell and junior third baseman Marcy Bowdren have been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors' All-State University Division First Team, VaSID announced Friday (June 14).
It is Mitchell's third all-state honor and Bowdren's first. Mitchell (White Plains, Md.) was named the VaSID All-State Pitcher of the Year in 2010 and was recognized on the first team in 2010 and 2012.
