LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Virginia softball junior Megan Harris (Knoxville, Tenn.) has been named a 2012-13 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete, the NFCA announced Monday (Oct. 7).
Harris was named to the 2013 All-ACC Softball Academic Team and recognized on the ACC Academic Honor Roll. The junior started all 49 games for the Cavaliers, splitting time across the diamond at first, second and third base, along with some time in the outfield. Harris was second on the team with 39 hits and was third on the squad with a .267 batting average and 22 runs batted in.
The awards are given to any student-athlete submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.
