Volunteer Assistant Coach

Arie Hefter is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cavaliers. Hefter assists with team practices and individual training sessions.

In his first season on staff in 2011-12, the Cavaliers matched a pair of records set a year earlier, tying the school with 20 wins and reaching the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The team was ranked a school record No. 6 nationally during the season and the team had two NCAA Singles Championship participants for the second consecutive year.

Hefter graduated from Davidson in 2011 and was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats. He played as high as No. 3 in the singles lineup his senior season. A native of Birmingham, Ala., Hefter won the won the Alabama high school championship, while leading Indian Springs High School to its first-ever boys state championship.

Hefter is currently in graduate school in UVa's McIntire School of Commerce.
