TROY, Ala. - Virginia women's tennis first-year Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) advanced in doubles with a first round upset at the USTA Tennis Classic of Troy, a 25K event on the USTA Pro Circuit. Epstein teamed with Troy University's Hannah Toro to down the No. 2 seeds in the first round.

Epstein and Toro, who were a wild card entry, topped Maria Abramovic of Croatia and Lenka Wienerova of Slovakia 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

With the win, Epstein will have a WTA doubles ranking next week.
