Women's Tennis Continues Play at East Coast Championships

NORFOLK, VA -

The Virginia women's tennis team continued play at the East Coast Championships at Old Dominion University. The three-day event concludes on Sunday in Norfolk.

The Cavaliers' play on Saturday was highlighted in Flight A where first year Lori Stern advanced to the semifinals. In Flight B, the Cavaliers have dominated as three of the four semifinalists are from Virginia as sisters Dora and Marta Bechliwanis and Lauren Bruch all advanced Saturday. Also reaching the semifinal round for Virginia was Kyle Montgomery in Flight D.

In doubles play, the team of Bruch and Kristen James won a pair of matches in Flight A to reach the semifinals. In Flight B, both the Bechliwanis sisters and the team of Stern and Montgomery moved into the semifinals.

The semifinals and finals of the tournament will take place Sunday.
