Cavaliers Claim Two Titles at Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The University of Virginia women's tennis team captured two titles at the Brown University Invitational this weekend.

Freshman Rebecca Weeks defeated Jen Lange of Dartmouth 6-2, 6-3 in the championship of the singles flight D yesterday. Weeks advanced to the finals with a tough 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (3) win over top-seeded Kim Arbuckle of Boston College on Saturday.

Leslie Cook and Christie Schweer won the doubles flight B title with an 8-6 win over Brown's Leela Raju and Amanda Rhee.

Several other Cavaliers fared well in Sunday's final round. Paige Boiko took third place in the singles flight A with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 win over Gabriela Hricko of Harvard.

Boiko and Kendall White beat Boston College's Barbara Privrel and Mercedes del Valle 8-2 in the third place match of the doubles flight B.
