Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- The University of Virginia women's tennis team opened its spring season this weekend at the ACC Indoor Championships at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina.

Paige Boiko led the way for the Cavaliers in the singles draw by advancing to the semifinals before falling to top-seeded Karen Goldstein of Duke. Goldstein went on to defeat teammate Megan Miller for the championship.

Stacy Gingold was the only other Cavalier to advance past the second round. She fell to Duke's Brooke Siebel in the third round.

The Cavaliers play their first dual match of the spring season against Old Dominion on February 7. The match will be played at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach beginning at 4:00 p.m.
