CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - University of Virginia women's tennis head coach Mark Guilbeau has named senior Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.) co-captain for the 2013 spring season.

Fuccillo joins senior Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.) as co-captains for the No. 11 Cavaliers, who host the UVa Winter Invitational Jan. 19-21 at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

Fuccillo joined the Cavaliers as a non-scholarship student-athlete in 2009, but has earned a scholarship throughout her UVa career. She has posted an 81-44 career singles record and has been ranked as high as No. 76 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I Singles Rankings. Fuccillo has a 78-44 career doubles mark and has been ranked as high as No. 16 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.

No. 13 Northwestern, No. 23 Tennessee and No. 34 Utah join Virginia in the individual singles and doubles tournament this weekend. The action starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. on Monday at Boar's Head Sports Club.
