The No. 62 Virginia women's tennis team (6-5, 0-2) returns home on Thursday looking to snap a three-match losing skid against in-state rival and No. 67 Virginia Tech. The match will be played at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center at 4 p.m.

The Cavaliers return home after losing on the road to two ACC opponents. Virginia fell to No. 10 North Carolina, 6-1, and No. 23 Duke, 6-1. Maggie Yahner (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Amanda Rales (Bethesda, Md.) were the only two Cavaliers to pick up singles victories over the weekend as the Cavaliers struggled to gain momentum. Rales also teamed with Lindsey Pereira (Arlington, Texas) to earn Virginia's only doubles victory over the weekend.

The match is worth one point in the Commonwealth Challenge presented by Comcast. Virginia enters the match with a 10.5 to 5.5 lead over Virginia Tech. A victory would clinch the title for the Cavaliers. Virginia has claimed the Commonwealth Challenge trophy the past two seasons.

Virginia plays it's next three matches at the Snyder Tennis Center. The Cavaliers will face NC State on Mar. 23 and Wake Forest on Mar. 25.
