Amanda Rales Named to All-ACC Women's Tennis Team


ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. Amanda Rales (Bethesda, Md.) was named to the 2008 All-ACC Women’s Tennis Team conference officials announced Thursday in conjunction with the start of the ACC Tennis Championships.

Rales finished the regular season with a 10-11 dual match record, including a 5-6 mark in conference play. Her five conference wins at the No. 1 position are the most by a Cavalier in over a decade.

Rales and the Cavaliers are the No. 7 seed for this week’s ACC Tournament at Sanlando Park. Virginia opens play at the tournament Thursday against Virginia Tech at noon.
