UVa Women's Tennis Player Laura James is ACC Flight Champion at #5 Singles

GREENSBORO, N.C. - UVa first-year women's tennis player Laura James (Fairfax, Va./Centerville) capped off an impressive freshman campaign by capturing the Atlantic Coast Conference flight championship at #5 singles. Second-year Jennifer Tuchband (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) and fourth-year Kelly Weaver (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) garnered runner-up recognition at #3 doubles.

James owns a 22-10 overall record and finished her first ACC season with a 6-2 mark at #5 singles. Tuchband and Weaver compiled a 5-3 conference record and are currently 17-11 overall.

The Cavalier women's tennis team is in action tomorrow (April 20) at the ACC Tournament in Orlando, Fla. Virginia will take on ACC rival North Carolina at 3:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the tournament at the Lake Cane - Marsha Park & Tennis Center.
