Virginia Women's Tennis Announces 2013-14 Schedule

The Virginia women's tennis team announced its 2013-14 schedule on Wednesday (Sept. 4). The Cavaliers will host the ITA Atlantic Regional in the fall, and the 2014 ITA Women's Tennis National Indoor Championships and nine other dual matches during the spring.

The Cavaliers' schedule is highlighted by 14 matches against 2013 NCAA Tournament teams, home contests against Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, and road matches at Georgia, Miami, Michigan and Alabama. Virginia and the Boar's Head Sports Club will also host the ITA National Indoor Championships for the fourth straight year on Feb. 7-10.

Virginia will face each of the 14 conference opponents, including newcomers Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, during its ACC schedule.

The Cavaliers will host Duke (Feb. 21), North Carolina (March 8), Maryland (March 9), Notre Dame (March 21), Pittsburgh (March 23), Georgia Tech (April 5) and Clemson (April 6). Virginia travels to Boston College (Feb. 23), Syracuse (March 1), Virginia Tech (March 29), NC State (April 12), Wake Forest (April 13), Florida State (April 18) and Miami (April 20).

Virginia hosts William & Mary (Jan. 15), VCU (Jan. 31) and South Carolina (Feb. 2) in non-conference action. The Cavaliers travel to Alabama (Feb. 15), Georgia (March 12) and Michigan (March 14).

The Cavaliers have advanced to the NCAA round of 16 in each of the last three seasons. Alabama, Clemson and Duke reached the NCAA round of 16 last season, while Georgia, Miami and North Carolina advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.

The Cavaliers host the ITA Atlantic Regional on Oct. 18-22 to highlight the fall season.
