ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Cavalier first-year Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.) continued her run at the Dwight Davis/Merrill Lynch Championships on the USTA Pro Circuit Thursday with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Lisa Wagner of Austria.

"Lindsey played well, especially in these conditions," said Cavalier assistant coach Troy Porco. "It was cold and windy and she did a good job of just executing her shots. When it got close in the second set, she did a good job of focusing and executing and that was a key to the win. ."

Hardenbergh, who is playing her first ever USTA Pro Circuit event, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the main draw after advancing from qualifying.

The tournament runs through Sunday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis' Forest Park.
