FLUSHING, N.Y. - Virginia's Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Rachel Pierson (Princeton, N.J.) captured the doubles title at the USTA National Adult Open, held Dec. 26-31 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

The top-seeded Elbaba and Pierson defeated No. 2 seed Kelly Williford and Rima Asatrian 6-2, 7-5 in the final to capture the title.

Elbaba and Pierson went undefeated at 4-0 in the tournament. They defeated Marina Bykorvska and Barbara Ordes 6-0, 6-1 in the round of 16 and Ekaterina Bore and Hannah Shtevn 6-2, 6-0 in the quarterfinals. Elbaba and Pierson advanced to the final by defeating Taylor Ng and Katherine Yau 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals.

Virginia returns to action at William & Mary on Jan. 15.
