CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team is back on the road as it travels to Miami on Friday (Nov. 6) at 7 p.m. and No. 17 Florida State on Sunday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN3.

Virginia (15-8, 7-5 ACC) is coming off a four-match home stand where it finished 2-2 with wins over Notre Dame and Wake Forest. Last weekend, junior Jasmine Burton (West Hills, Calif.) led the Cavaliers with 3.00 kills per set on .455 hitting percentage against Wake Forest and Duke.
Senior Natalie Bausback (Carlsbad, Calif.) finished with 13 kills in the two matches and is now 11 kills shy of becoming the 17th player in UVA history to reach 1,000 career kills.
Miami (16-7, 9-4 ACC) is coming off an upset of Florida State, 3-1, on Wednesday night. The Hurricanes have won four of their last five matches and are 10-0 inside James L. Knight Sport Complex this season. Taylor Scott leads the team with 3.37 kills per set.
The series between Virginia and Miami is tied at 10-10. The Hurricanes won the most recent meeting, topping UVA, 3-1, in Miami on Nov. 9, 2014. The last time the Cavaliers won on the road at Miami was in 2007.
No. 17 Florida State (18-6, 11-2 ACC) recorded its second loss in three matches after falling to Miami on Wednesday. The Seminoles had won 10-straight matches to open conference play. Nicole Walsh is leading Florida State with 3.73 kills per set this season, while three players are averaging over 1.00 blocks per set.
Sunday will mark the 50th all-time meeting between Virginia and Florida State. The Seminoles hold a 35-14 advantage and have won the last six matches. The last time UVA defeated Florida State was on Oct. 31, 2010 when the Cavaliers defeated a then-No. 25 ranked FSU, 3-2.
Up next, Virginia will return home for a four-match home stand that begins with NC State on Nov. 20 and North Carolina on Nov. 21.
