Second Varsity Four Victorious at Longhorn Invite
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 12 Virginia’s Second Varsity Four raced to a win at the highly-competitive Longhorn Invite on Saturday (April 27) at Lake Walter E. Long in Austin, Texas.
UVA’s 2V4 clocked a time of 7:11.565 to defeat No. 2 Texas (7:15.355) and No. 14 Ohio State (7:21.940).
Ohio State topped the Cavaliers in the Varsity Eight (6:20.922-6:26.766), Second Varsity Eight (6:35.060-6:44.292) and Varsity Four (7:14.980-7:17.805).
Texas (6:38.688) raced past No. 2 Stanford (6:43.362) and UVA (7:06.697) in the Third Varsity Eight.
The Cavaliers return to action at the ACC Championships on May 17-18 at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, N.C. UVA has won 22 of the 23 conference championships and has claimed 90 of the 100 events contested. The conference regatta features five events, including the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Third Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four.
